General Market-  Lumber buyers continued to take a conservative approach.  Pine & imported plywood sales were steady as supply remained in line with demand.   Fir Plywood markets were slower again but steady.  OSB sales were good with lead times out to November.  OSB prices are up.  Pine prices are flat & fir plywood prices are up again.

Spruce – Western Spruce lumber sales were mixed and supply tight especially on wides.  Prices: 2x4 -$5, 2x6 -$5, 2 x 8 +$10, 2 x 10 +$18, & 2 x 12 Flat /mbf. Eastern SPF sales were mixed.  2 x 6, 2 x 8 & 2 x 10  remain the active & in tight supply!  Prices: -$15 to +$Flat/mbf.              

      

DG/Portbec -  Sales were mixed this week.
2 x 4-2 x 6 r/l Prices: -$20 to Flat/mbf, 2 x 8 Flat, 2 x 10 flat/mbf.        
Stud Prices: -$20 to Flat/mbf.  2 x 6, 2 x 8 & 2 x 10 are still in tight supply!
Lead times are the week of 10/19 – 10/26.

Inland White Fir – White Fir activity was measured except 2 x 8 & 2 x 10.  Prices: -$5 to +$10/mbf.

Studs – Western Spruce stud sales slowed.  Prices: -$20 to -$5/mbf. Eastern SPF Stud sales were slower too. Prices: -$20 to -$5/mbf. Fir Stud sales were sluggish.  Prices: -$10 to Flat/mbf.                                                                   

                                                                                            

Boards-  Eastern Pine sales stayed steady. Prices: Flat/mbf.

Treated: Treated Lumber prices came off across the board again this week -$10/m.  Slower demand in the NE along with dealers watching inventory levels is affecting activity. Lead times remain a week or so on directs, and no issues on the supply side.

OSB- OSB markets were active with quick product shipments limited.  Prices: +$10/msf.

​

Southern Pine/Imported Plywood – Southern Pine & Imported Plywood supply & demand were close again this week. Will weather in the south affect the market ?  Prices: Flat/msf.

​

Western Fir Plywood – Fir Plywood sales pace continued to slow down.  Lead times were out a couple of weeks & shipping challenges continued.  Prices: +$4 to +$7/msf.
