General Market-  The Lumber sales pace was steady this week. Eastern Spruce summer mill shutdowns are upon us. Pine & imported plywood sales were steady.  Fir plywood sales were better this week. OSB sales were steady too.  OSB prices are flat.  Pine plywood prices are up & fir plywood prices are flat.

Spruce – Western Spruce lumber sales were steady.  Prices: 2x4 Flat, 2x6 +$9, 2 x 8 +$9,      2 x 10 +$18, & 2 x 12 +$5/mbf. Eastern SPF sales were steady too. 2 x 6 is tight!  Prices: +$5 to +25/mbf.        

                    

DG/Portbec -  The mill was busy & supply even tighter!  A growing number of items were off the market, especially 2 x 6 8’ & 10’!  2 x 4-2 x 6 r/l Prices: +$5 to +$15/mbf, 2 x 8 +$5, 2 x 10 +$25/mbf.  Stud Prices: $5 to +$15/mbf. Studs are in tight supply!

 Lead times are the week of 8/3-8/17.    Summer Mill Shutdown Coming:  7/17-8/3

Inland White Fir –  White Fir demand remained steady.  Prices: Flat to +$10/mbf.             

Studs – Western Spruce stud sales were better.  Prices: +$5 to +$15/mbf. Eastern SPF Stud demand was strong again, especially 2 x 6 8’! Prices: +$10 to +$15/mbf. Fir Stud sales were much stronger than dimensional! Prices: +$5 to +$15/mbf.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

Boards- Eastern Pine mills remained busy with strong order files. Prices: Flat/mbf.

Treated: Treated Lumber Prices printed up again this week +$5/m but seem to be settling some. The wides and plywoods were flat, while the decking and narrows were the ones that increased. We had a strong week out of warehouse, and on directs. Demand seems to be staying strong after the holiday, and dealers are stocking up to stay ahead. No issues on the supply side (besides trucking) and lead times remain a week or sooner for most suppliers.

OSB- OSB sales were steady with lead times out to early August.  Prices: Flat/msf.

Southern Pine/Imported Plywood – Southern Pine & Imported Plywood demand was good as prices moved up again.  Prices: Flat to +$5/msf..

Western Fir Plywood – Fir Plywood sales picked up.    Prices: Flat/msf.
